Privacy Policy
Legal Research & Analysis (Leg. Res. Anal.) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of everyone who uses the journal’s website and submission system, including authors, reviewers, editors and readers.
Information We Collect
The journal collects only the personal information needed to run its publishing operations, including:
- Account information: name, email address, username, institutional affiliation, country and, optionally, ORCID iD and biographical details
- Submission information: author details and metadata provided with manuscripts, together with correspondence and review reports
- Technical information: basic usage data, such as IP addresses and pages visited, collected through the website and cookies for security, statistics and site functionality
This information is used solely to:
- manage submissions, peer review and editorial processes;
- publish articles and their associated metadata;
- communicate with users about submissions, reviews and journal matters; and
- maintain, secure and improve the journal’s website.
Registered users receive automated emails about their submissions, review assignments and, where they have opted in, journal announcements. Users can change their notification preferences in their account profile at any time.
Information That Is Published
When an article is published, the authors’ names, affiliations, ORCID iDs (if provided) and the corresponding author’s email address appear with the article. This metadata becomes part of the public scholarly record and is shared with:
- Crossref, for DOI registration;
- indexing and abstracting services and directories in which the journal is listed; and
- preservation services, including the PKP Preservation Network, Zenodo and the Internet Archive.
Because published metadata forms part of the permanent scholarly record, it cannot normally be removed after publication, except as set out in the journal’s Correction, Retraction, Withdrawal and Removal Policy.
Sharing of Information
Personal information is never sold, rented or shared with third parties for marketing or any purpose unrelated to the journal. Information may be shared only:
- with reviewers and editors, to the extent required for peer review (reviewer and author identities are kept confidential under double-blind review);
- with trusted service providers, such as hosting providers, who process data on the journal’s behalf under confidentiality obligations
Data Retention and Security
Personal data is kept only as long as needed for journal operations or to meet legal requirements. Inactive accounts may be anonymised or deleted. The journal takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.
Users may at any time:
- access and update their personal information through their account profile;
- ask for a copy of the personal data held about them;
- ask for their account and personal data to be deleted, subject to the limits on published metadata described above; and
- unsubscribe from journal notifications.
Requests should be sent to lra@innovativejournals.net.
